JPE is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal. Editor-in-Chief Adrienne Boissy, MD, MA and the Editorial Board are committed to representing the patient and other stakeholders' perspectives in patient experience as well as to rigorous study of interventions and improvement strategies.
The JPE panel encourages diversity in approaches to the field of patient experience in order to make the journal a valuable resource across the healthcare spectrum. The Journal of Patient Experience serves as a forum for research, practical findings, interdisciplinary perspectives and narratives that provide a voice for patients and providers.
JPE is published quarterly in partnership with SAGE Publications, Inc. The open-access model allows for continuous publishing, so we are always accepting papers for potential review. If accepted, your article will be published online in a fully citable form with a DOI number as soon as it has completed the production process. It will be free to view and download prior to inclusion in a journal issue. Print copies of each issue are sent to premium AfPE members.
